Privacy policy
How Naqab AI handles your account, CVs, career information and optional browser extension data.
Who operates Naqab
Naqab AI, based in Egypt, operates Naqab and is responsible for the personal information described here. Contact support@naqab.me for privacy questions, access requests or account deletion. This policy covers the website and the Naqab Easy Apply browser extension.
Information we process
Account information includes your name, email, authentication provider and account identifiers. Uploaded CVs and extracted text may contain contact information, experience, education, skills and other details you include. We store reviewed and draft profiles, search preferences, saved jobs, application statuses and notes, generated application kits, recommendation settings, usage and credit records, extension connection records and payment references. Hosting and authentication providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, device details and security logs.
Why we use it
We process information to authenticate you, store documents, build editable career profiles, find relevant jobs, prepare requested application materials, deliver enabled recommendations, account for credits and payments, improve the accuracy of our AI using de-identified data, and protect the service. Where applicable law requires a legal basis, providing requested services and processing purchases supports our contract with you; security, abuse prevention and improving our AI support legitimate interests; records may also be needed for legal obligations. Optional features are activated by your choices, and consent is used where required by applicable law.
AI and job-search processing
Google Gemini receives CV text and career information to extract profile details. When you request an application kit, AI processing includes profile information, CV text and the selected job description. Do not include sensitive information you do not need processed. Job-search providers receive role, location and relevant search terms, not your raw CV or contact details. Matching and weekly XP assist your search; they do not determine employer hiring decisions. AI output can be inaccurate, and you can edit your profile.
Improving Naqab's AI
To make CV reading, job matching and fit scores more accurate, we may use CVs and career profiles uploaded to signed-in accounts to test and improve Naqab's AI, including its instructions and matching models. Before any CV is used this way, we remove direct identifiers such as your name, email, phone number, street address, profile links and photos, and we use only the remaining career details, such as job titles, skills, experience and education. This de-identified data stays within Naqab: we do not publish it, sell it or share it with employers, and AI outputs are never built to reveal who a CV belongs to. CVs uploaded to the free guest preview are read for that request only and are not stored or used for this purpose. To keep your CVs out of this use, email support@naqab.me from your account email; this does not affect your access to the service.
Service providers and recipients
Firebase Authentication handles sign-in and Firestore stores account and dashboard records. Cloudinary stores original files using authenticated delivery. Google Gemini processes requested AI features. Configured job providers receive search queries. Resend handles recommendation emails when enabled, including your destination email and recommendation content. Paymob receives billing details needed for checkout, such as name, email and phone; Naqab stores payment references, amounts and status, not full card details. Hosting is provided through the deployment platform, including Vercel where deployed. Providers may process data in countries outside Egypt under their own service terms and applicable transfer requirements. Opening employer or job-board links takes you to services with their own privacy policies.
Employers on Naqab
Verified employers can post jobs on Naqab. When you choose Apply with Naqab, that employer receives your saved career profile (including your name, contact details, experience and education), your message and your default CV. They may share it with the people deciding on that hire, such as a hiring manager or, for a job posted by a recruitment agency, the agency's client, through a private link that shows your profile and CV but not your contact details. Other employers do not receive it. Talent search is on by default once you confirm your career profile, and you can turn it off at any time in Applications. While it is on, verified employers can see an anonymous card with your target roles, skills, years of experience, city, languages, qualifications and certifications, but not your name, contact details, employers, summary or CV. An employer can invite you to apply to one of its jobs; your details are shared only if you accept, and then as an application. Turning talent search off hides your card at once. Employers receive information you share for recruitment to that job only. Employers keep their own records under their own responsibility; ask them directly about information they hold, or contact us. Showing the anonymous card is based on our legitimate interest in connecting you with relevant employers, and you can object by turning talent search off. Sharing your identity, contact details or CV is based on your consent, which you give each time you apply or accept an invite.
Browser extension
The optional extension reads supported field labels and options in LinkedIn Easy Apply dialogs to fill empty fields from your Naqab profile and available application kit. When you choose Prepare answers, it sends the job identifier, title, company and description to Naqab for AI preparation. When you choose Track in Naqab, it sends job identifiers and details to your application tracker. The extension stores its connection key and server settings in browser extension storage; its background worker communicates with Naqab. It does not press Submit. Filled details become visible to LinkedIn and are handled by that platform. Revoke the key in Account & data and remove the extension to stop its access.
Free CV preview
When you use the free preview without an account, we store the uploaded CV, its extracted text and what we read from it for up to seven days, linked to the naqab_guest cookie in your browser. If you create an account or sign in from that browser within that time, the CV moves into My CVs and is read for your profile. Your preview searches (role, location, skills, experience and the jobs and scores returned, without your CV or contact details) are kept to improve search and matching as described above.
Cookies and local storage
The website uses the naqab_session sign-in cookie for up to five days, the naqab_guest free-preview cookie for up to seven days, the naqab_locale language preference for up to one year and a sidebar preference cookie for up to seven days. Firebase also uses browser storage for authentication state. LinkedIn sign-in uses temporary cookies for its authorization flow. The browser extension stores its key and connection settings locally. The current application does not include advertising trackers or a marketing analytics integration. These necessary and preference technologies support sign-in, language and navigation.
Retention and deletion limits
Documents and dashboard records remain stored while you use the service unless removed through available controls or an account-deletion request. No automatic account-wide deletion period is currently configured. My CVs deletes original files and their CV records, but a confirmed career profile may remain separately. Saved jobs, applications, generated kits, search history, usage and payment records are separate records; deleting a CV does not delete them all. Payment, security and other records may be retained where required for legal obligations, fraud prevention or disputes. Provider logs and backups follow provider retention processes. Ask us about specific records before assuming they have been erased.
Your choices and requests
Edit your profile, download original CVs, export dashboard details from Account & data, remove saved jobs or applications, turn scheduled checks off and revoke extension access. For account closure, broader deletion, access, correction or other applicable privacy rights, email support@naqab.me from your account email. We may need to verify your identity without collecting unnecessary documents. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to portability, objection, restriction or a complaint to a relevant data-protection authority. We assess requests and any retention exceptions under applicable law.
Security, updates and contact
Naqab uses authenticated account access, private document delivery and revocable extension keys. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your sign-in details and do not share extension keys. We will update the date on this page when data practices change. Contact Naqab AI at support@naqab.me with questions or suspected account misuse.
